Mago Studio is now open source: a script-to-series and footage restyling studio that renders on your own GPU
Mago open-sourced the desktop edition of its AI video editor as Mago Studio, under AGPL-3.0, for Windows, macOS and Linux. It takes a script to cast, shot list, storyboards and scenes, or restyles your own footage frame-accurately, and renders through ComfyUI on your own GPU.
What it does
Mago Director goes from a script to cast, shot list and storyboards, then consistent scenes where each shot picks up from the previous one. Mago Transform restyles footage on chosen frame ranges, edits part of a video with masks, relights and replaces characters, with versioning and review tools on a timeline.
Worth knowing
It runs on a bundled ComfyUI or your own install; local renders are free, while cloud models are paid and need a Mago account, and a cloud render uploads only that shot and its references. The founder says it can run fully locally with a Qwen model as the LLM, and the code is written so AI agents like Claude can change it.
