CueFX lets you decide when a drawn effect appears on a person in real footage, where it travels and how it ends

CueFXFree, open source (Apache-2.0; runs locally)

CueFX is a free, open-source effects tool, made for Comfy's #OpenSourceHiggsfield challenge, that tracks a body point in your clip and attaches an effect such as a sphere, ring or crystal to it. You set when it appears, how it behaves and how it ends, and it composites the result back onto the footage.

What it does

You upload a clip, pick a palm, fist, foot, knee, shoulder or head for MediaPipe to track, and choose hold, hold and throw, charge-up or orbit; throws follow a path you draw. The effect fades, bursts or shatters, and one render writes the composite, a grey motion layout and optionally the effect alone on black.

Worth knowing

The effect window is at most 193 frames, about 8 seconds at 24 fps, and clips are conformed to 1920×1080 at 24 fps and up to 60 seconds. It runs as a local Python (FastAPI) server plus a Next.js editor and needs ffmpeg; the creators say it is powered by LTX-2.5 on ComfyUI.
