The Nexus Blender Storyboard Workflow: 3D Blockouts to AI Video Boards
The team behind the Nexus AI series shares the four-step method director Theo Dudley led on the show: Claude builds a true-scale blockout in Blender through the Blender connector, and the scene is photographed into storyboard pages. Each board then gets written camera language so a video model such as Seedance, or an image model, keeps sizes, positions and screen direction right.
Key points
- Build the scene at real-world scale in metres with a fixed orientation, one coloured stand-in per character at their real height
- Add one named camera per shot with lens, facing, height and move, and a timeline marker so playback cuts like an edit
- Keep the 180-degree rule and check every camera before moving on
- Render two to four lettered frames per shot onto storyboard pages with camera lines, captions and a stand-in key
- Under each board, write the shot's camera language and say the grey stand-ins are placeholders, so the look comes from your references
- Each step has a copy-paste Claude prompt, plus the project's Blender files and a full nine-shot Seedance prompt
