Seedance 2.5 4K brings native 4K and 10-bit color for film work, in enterprise trials
ByteDance's Volcano Engine announced Seedance 2.5 4K on 23 October, a film and TV tier of its Seedance 2.5 video model with native 4K output, 10-bit color and extra training on facial expressions, subtle movement and fine detail. For now only selected enterprise customers can try it, and no price has been published.
What it does
A Draft mode lets you test shots and refine storyboards as cheaper 480p previews, then generate the approved version in 4K. ByteDance says the model also keeps image quality, colors and fine details when you work from reference material or edit existing footage.
Worth knowing
TechNode reports that some film-production and post-production companies in China and abroad have begun testing it, and BytePlus says API availability updates are still to come. The public Seedance 2.5 API still tops out at 1080p; 1440p and 4K tiers sold by some resellers are upscales, not native output.
