Production Desk runs a one-person film production next to ComfyUI, from first key frame to a Nuke comp with EXR passes

Production DeskFree, open source (MIT; runs locally)

Production Desk is a free, open-source browser panel and set of scripts by Nuke compositor Erman Zambak that runs a short-film production next to ComfyUI the way a VFX house would. It makes key frames and LTX-2.5 shots, queues and reviews them, builds the DaVinci Resolve edit and hands the cut to Nuke as EXR plate, matte, depth and normal passes.

What it does

New shot makes a key frame from a prompt (Z-Image Turbo) or a video from a start frame (LTX-2.5) by copying a tested master workflow, with no node graph. Before production it asks for three locks (script, identity package, storyboard plus animatic). The Queue renders with progress, retry and pause and audits every clip for morphing, flicker and light drift; Review has a frame-accurate player, versions side by side, approve or reject, drawn notes and a Cut check of last frame against next first frame and the 180° axis. Send to Resolve builds the Resolve project (ACES, timeline, bins) from approved shots, and Prep for Nuke reads the cut back and renders the used range plus an 8-frame handle as EXR plate, alpha matte, Z depth and normals, then checks the package.

Worth knowing

It uses open-weights models only (Z-Image Turbo, Qwen Image 2.1, LTX-2.5) with core nodes plus ComfyUI-LTXVideo, and no partner nodes, closed APIs or cloud. It needs an NVIDIA GPU with 24 to 32 GB of VRAM recommended for LTX-2.5 22B (tested on an RTX 5090), DaVinci Resolve Studio for the scripting, Nuke for compositing, Python 3.10+ and ffmpeg; Windows is the main platform and Linux works for the Desk and ComfyUI parts. Versions are never overwritten and every render is logged. An AGENTS.md lets any coding agent, including a local model through LM Studio and opencode, act as production manager. Code is MIT; the models keep their own licences (LTX-2.5 needs a paid licence from US$10M annual revenue).
