ComfyUI-SceneCut finds every cut in a video and exports the scenes as clips

ComfyUI-SceneCutFree, open source (MIT)

ComfyUI-SceneCut is a free node pack that detects every shot in a video, labels hard cuts, jump cuts and transitions, and double-checks each cut so a flash or whip pan doesn't split a shot. A viewer inside the node lets you fix cuts that are a frame off, pick scenes and export them as frame-exact clips with their sound.

What it does

OmniShotCut finds the cuts and labels transitions such as dissolves, wipes, pushes, zooms and fades, and DINOv3 checks every cut, merging back the ones caused by flashes, strobes or fast pans. Presets cover film and TV, music videos, anime, vlogs and sports.

In the viewer you play the video, step frame by frame, move a cut with Fix cut or Join to nearest cut, select scenes and export one file per scene plus a scenes.json, in H.264, H.265, NVENC, ProRes 422 HQ or lossless FFV1. Scenes can also flow on into other nodes as image batches.

Worth knowing

It needs ComfyUI v0.39 or later; a GPU is optional (4 GB is enough) and no ffmpeg binary is needed. The models download on first use: OmniShotCut (164 MB, MIT), DINOv3 (1.2 GB, DINOv3 License) and an optional SSCD tie-breaker (178 MB). The author says the Film and Music video presets are tuned on real footage and the others are starting values. The code is MIT.

Try it yourself

Open Templates > custom nodes > SceneCut-basic, load [your rough cut or a reference film], choose the Film / TV preset, queue it, then select the shots you want and press Export clips with ProRes 422 HQ for editing.
